Although Lumberton is not exactly a college town, our college ministry is important to who we are.  We maintain an active, vibrant youth program where much is invested in each student.  When they become young adults, many must leave us for school or career. Others may move to the area for one of several reasons. No matter whether they are coming home after a long absence or brand new to Lumberton, we want all college and career age folks to know they have a home at First Baptist.  Not only do we have a warm, welcoming College & Career Sunday School class, we also offer several opportunities for collegians and young adults to unite such as:

Young Adult Mission Trip (working with Habitat for Humanity and other agencies in Asheville NC and Charleston SC).

College Retreat (sometimes a rafting trip, sometimes skiing)

Wilderness Trail Hiking Weekend (worship, devotion, and fun on the Appalachian Trail)

Our college students also enjoy taking part in a variety of local missions such as Inasmuch and our Children’s Christmas Party, with many travelling home just to take part.  We also have a program matching our college students with individuals and classes of older adults to help remind them they are supported and loved here at First Baptist.
